Carmel Bars

Yield

9×9 pan

Ingredients

  • 37 caramels
  • 5 tbsp evaporated milk
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup oatmeal
  • 34 cup brown sugar
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup melted butter
  • ½ cup chocolate bits
  • ½ cup nuts (optional)

Directions

  1. Melt caramels and milk in double boiler. Combine next 6 ingredients in bowel. Stir until crumble. Press ½ in bottom of 9 inch square pan. Bake 350º for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate and nuts over top. Cover with caramel mixture. Sprinkle remaining mixture over top. Bake an additional 20 minutes. Cut into bars while still warm.

Caramel Pecan Ice Cream Desert

Ingredients

  • 1 ¾ cups flour
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup margarine melted
  • 1 ½ cup caramel sundae sauce
  • 3 cups ice cream

Directions

  1. Combine flour, pecans, brown sugar and oats. Add melted margarine. Put in thin layer on large baking sheet with sides. Bake 400º stirring occasionally for 15 minutes. Crumble while warm. Cool – Press half in 13 X 9 pan. Drizzle with ½ sauce. Spread with ice cream and remaining crumbs and sauce. Cover and store in freezer

Blueberry Lattice Pie

Ingredients

  • 4 cups blueberry
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup light brown sugar firmly packed (scant
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 12 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • ½ tsp cinnamon (or mace)
  • ¼ cup melted butter (or margarine)

Directions

  1. Roll out two-thirds of the pastry on lightly floured board. Line bottom and sides of a 9 inch pie pan.
  2. Combine blueberries with sugar brown sugar, flour,salt nutmeg, cinnamon, and butter
  3. Mix well, pour into pie shell
  4. Roll out remaining pastry
  5. Bake in preheated 425 degree oven 35 to 45 minutes or until brown and bubbly
  6. Cool slightly before serving

Apple Pudding

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • Butter size of 1 egg
  • 1 ½ cup flour
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp soda
  • pinch salt
  • 1 ½ cup fresh fruit

Directions

  1. Make sauce: 1 cup brown sugar & margarine. Thicken with cornstarch

Apple Brown Betty

Ingredients

  • ½ cup melted butter
  • ¾ cp brown sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • dash salt.
  • Peeled and cored apples sliced
  • lemon juice
  • cinnamon

Directions

  1. Combine first 4 ingredients until crumbly.
  2. Put apples in 8 inch square pan.
  3. Sprinkle with lemon juice and cinnamon.
  4. Crumble brown sugar mixture on top.
  5. Bake in 350 degree oven until apple are tender and crumble mixture in brown and bubbly
