Ingredients
- 37 caramels
- 5 tbsp evaporated milk
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup oatmeal
- 34 cup brown sugar
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¾ cup melted butter
- ½ cup chocolate bits
- ½ cup nuts (optional)
Directions
- Melt caramels and milk in double boiler. Combine next 6 ingredients in bowel. Stir until crumble. Press ½ in bottom of 9 inch square pan. Bake 350º for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate and nuts over top. Cover with caramel mixture. Sprinkle remaining mixture over top. Bake an additional 20 minutes. Cut into bars while still warm.
