Chocolate Caramel Cookie Bark

Ingredients

  • Cookie
  • 1 cup butter
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown Sugar, packed
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 cups flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • Topping
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup br. Sugar, packed
  • 2 cups milk chocolate chips- I used semi-sweet
  • 1 cup toasted almonds finely chopped

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 17X 11 baking sheet and line with parchment paper, overlapping the two ends for easy removal.
  2. Beat butter, sugars, vanilla and water until smooth. Add remaining 3 ingredients and beat until mixture is combined.
  3. Spread dough to cover prepared baking sheet
  4. Bake in preheated oven 15 minutes.
  5. Meanwhile, over medium heat bring butter and brown sugar to a boil. Stir to combine. Spread mixture over partially baked cookie dough. Return to over and bake an additional 8 minutes until caramel is bubbling
  6. Remove from oven , immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over hot caramel. Wait 5 minutes and spread melted chocolate over cookie. If using nuts, sprinkle over chocolate
  7. Cool in refrigerator until chocolate is set. Once at room temperature, break or cut cookie slab into irregular pieces or into favourite cookie cutter shapes.

Cheese Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1/c cup process cheese (Old imperial is best)
  • 1½ cup flour
  • ½ cup butter
  • 2 tsp. cream
  • Salt to taste

Directions

  1. Mix thoroughly and roll to ½ inch thickness. Cut in rounds. Bake at 375º for 15 minutes (less)
  2. Put 2 cookies together with raspberry or strawberry jelly in the middle. You could also make turnovers with this recipe. I use jam instead of jelly.

Butt Cookies

These cookies were made by my Gramma Cumming. She never had a recipe. My mom sat beside her and wrote down the ingredients as she was baking them. They got their name from my grandfather who replied when asked whether he liked them or not.  They’re good, butt…..

  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 cup margarine
  • 2 eggs (3 or 4)
  • molasis
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup milk
  • 3 to 4 cups flour

Directions

  1. I would bake 350º for about 10 minutes.

Brown Sugar Shortbread

Ingredients

  • 1 pound butter very soft
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • (1/2 tsp soda mixed with 1 cup flour)
  • 3 more cups four.

Directions

  1. Cream butter and sugar for 15 minutes.
  2. Mix in dry ingredients gradually
  3. Pat to ½ inch thickness. Cut into small cookies.
  4. Place on cookie sheet. Place in fridge 15 minutes.
  5. Bake for 15 minutes at 225ºto 250º.

Banana Cookies

Ingredients

  • ½ cup shortening
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 2 ¼ cup flour
  • 2/3 cup banana.- fill with cream.

Directions

  1. Put soda on banana.
  2. Mix dry ingredients.
  3. Bake 350 degrees for 12 minutes.
