- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 4 cups flour – scant
- Melt ½ cup shortening in ¼ cup scalded milk
- 1 egg beaten
- Add milk, shortening, egg and yeast mixture to flour, sugar, salt.
- Mix thoroughly. Knead a little then let rise 1 hour and form into rolls. Rise 1 hour more and bake in hot oven
- 450 degree for 10 to 12 minutes
